A Passion for Fine Wines Jaco Marais’ commitment to produce unique, outstanding wines has earned him a local and international reputation - and a string of coveted awards.
Armed with his B.Sc. (Agric.) degree in Viticulture and Oenology, he has acquired invaluable wine making expertise; working as a cellar assistant at Windmeul Wine Cellars, the Bottellary in Stellenbosch and at Matanzas Creek Winery in California. Appointed Head Wine Maker of Excelsior Estate in 1995, Jaco later joined Augusta Wines in 2003 – now known as Grande Provence.
His flair for creating fine wines of consistent quality has made Grande Provence a reputable estate, popular amongst
global connoisseurs.
